Belden Broadband Solutions, a core platform of businesses owned by Belden Inc. (Belden), has long been a leading pioneer of connectivity and network optimization solutions for worldwide broadband service providers. Belden, and its Central New York-based PPC® brand, offer award-winning solutions for next generation networks through an expansive portfolio of fiber optic and copper products that enable fast, reliable data transmission within a wide range of broadband topologies.
Belden recently celebrated its 120th anniversary alongside the 80th anniversary of its PPC brand. As the R&D and manufacturing hub for its worldwide broadband business, Belden’s Syracuse plant has long been a CNY mainstay, experiencing rapid growth over the last decade through the expansion of its fiber product portfolio and its industry-leading culture of innovation.
Over the last three years, Belden initiated an operational shift in Syracuse by establishing production of fiber optic components to support American demand for domestically-sourced products. Alongside the traditional RF (radio frequency) and copper connectivity products made in Syracuse for decades, the inclusion of fiber component manufacturing has led to a 20% growth in its workforce since 2020 and an ever expanding need for talent to better support its national and international broadband equity programs.
Belden is committed to advancing CNY community programs through its environmental, social and governance (ESG) focus, as well as supporting New York State and broader North American initiatives aimed at closing the digital divide and establishing highspeed broadband access for all unserved and underserved communities.
