Founded in 1921, Black & McDonald began as a small electrical contracting firm in Toronto. Over the past century, the company has grown into one of North America’s most respected integrated, multi-trade service providers. Black & McDonald was contracted to perform a significant part of the wind farm project for the Jericho Rise Wind Park in Franklin County. The effort included several local firms in Upstate New York, which the Black & McDonald team engaged to assist on the project. The project went well, and Black & McDonald decided shortly thereafter to open its office in Central New York to offer its services throughout the Northeast US with Syracuse, New York as its anchor office.
The company has since grown to 50 employees at its Syracuse, New York office and is serving more than 120 clients across the Northeast. The Syracuse, New York office is dedicated to delivering a comprehensive range of specialized services across upstate New York and the entire Northeast U.S. The company excels in providing turnkey design-build substations, ensuring the seamless integration of design and construction for efficient and reliable power distribution.
