The Milton J. Rubenstein Museum of Science & Technology (MOST) is a hands-on science and technology museum in historic Armory Square in downtown Syracuse that attracts more than 120,000 visitors every year. As a nonprofit chartered educational institution, it's supported by generous business and individual donors, grants, and museum admissions and sales.
The museum contains 35,000 square feet of interactive exhibits. Its newest permanent exhibit, Onondaga Grown presents GROW, is an agricultural feature, which includes a 6-stall farmers market and full-size tractor. Other exhibits include Micron DECONSTRUCTED, C&S Companies BUILD, Dino Zone presented by M&T Bank, and a 5-level indoor Stickley Science Playhouse. Its state-of-the-art National Grid ExploraDome theatre and Silverman Planetarium showcase science documentaries and planetarium shows.
Recently, the museum and the Micron Foundation announced the Micron Teacher Fellowship at the MOST, a hands-on STEM program designed to inspire and support the next generation of innovators in Central New York. Made possible by a $100,000 grant from the Micron Foundation, this new initiative will fund two year-long fellowships for two Central New York STEM educators.
The MOST partners with dozens of local companies and organizations for ongoing educational opportunities. The new Amazon Workforce Discovery presented by NY-RAMP powered by MACNY program supports the next generation of high-tech workers through engaging, hands-on, and accessible learning initiatives. Regular programs include MACNY Future Women in STEM; KeyBank Future Innovators in STEM; our annual Catapults, Bridges, Robotics, and Rockets Challenges; and the CNY Science & Engineering Fair presented by Lockheed Martin and SRC.
The museum is also a popular location for corporate events and fundraisers, with multiples spaces that support a variety of event needs. Learn more about the MOST at most.org.
