The Bonadio Group formally mergers with CPA Firm Ganer + Ganer and appoints Casey Ganer as New York City office managing partner

New York, N.Y. November 16, 2021 – The Bonadio Group, a nationally ranked Top 50 CPA firm and the largest independent provider of professional services in Upstate New York, today finalized the official completion of the previously announced merger with the New York City-based accounting firm, Ganer + Ganer, who will now begin operating under The Bonadio Group name. This merger and expansion within the New York City metropolitan market strengthens The Bonadio Group’s commitment to growth downstate and their ability to provide outstanding client service to businesses across New York State and beyond.

Prior to the merger, Ganer + Ganer, which was founded in 1974 by Maxine and Robert Ganer, provided a wide array of services to help clients navigate financial and organizational challenges. With a focus primarily on tax preparation, financial statements, business management and consulting, Ganer + Ganer adds significant value to The Bonadio Group’s existing suite of services.

In 2017, Maxine and Robert transitioned the leadership of their firm to their sons, Casey and Terry Ganer. With the finalization of the merger, The Bonadio Group is also announcing the appointment of Casey Ganer, CPA, as Office Managing Partner of its New York City location, which was recently relocated to the Avenue of the Americas. In this role, Casey, along with Terry, Maxine and Robert, will lead the execution of the firm’s growth strategy for the region, including the management of clients, employees, and financial strategy.

“The Ganer family and their firm are incredible assets to Bonadio and will greatly guide our growth and expansion efforts in downstate New York, as well as manage our dedicated New York City team,” said Bruce Zicari, Chief Executive Officer, The Bonadio Group. “As we work to

expand our commitment and presence in the region, their experience will be a tremendous asset to us as we continue our tradition of providing outstanding talent and services to our clients.”

“We are so excited for this new chapter,” added Casey Ganer. “Our consolidation and partnership with a firm like The Bonadio Group provides our people with a tremendous amount of opportunity and allows us to provide a wider array of services to our clients.”

With over 800 employees spanning 10 offices, this expansion has added 21 employees to The Bonadio Group’s footprint. Founded in 1978, The Bonadio Group has offices in Rochester, Buffalo, Syracuse, Albany and beyond, and has steadily grown since 1996, completing 21 mergers since its establishment.
